Designing my website using WordPress.

I definitely do not have a gift for design but through hardwork, dedication, alot of youtube, perseverance, sleepless nights and unforseen energy in me, I’m humble to say I’m 50% to completion of my company website. Yeah! For the first time ever, I’m taking this seriously in my 16yrs of work journey. Sort of like a compulsory task for designing it and then hoping to leave a legacy. Haha.

Elated because I was initially stuck at the blog page. It just wouldn’t show up, God damn it. But thank god, was resolve via lots of trying. Super impress with my effort.

If you have been following, all my services related pages are not design and online yet. I foresee it will be soon, as long as I got the time to do it, but no more sleepless night cause it’s harmful to the health, just need to go at a slow pace and design to the best I could.

Well, they say it takes a genius to start off this act. I’ve learned it wasn’t easy for a start. But once you got the hang of it, all the inspirations will come to you naturally.

For those OMO (one man operation) or those home business owner, you basically need a domain and a web/email hosting to begin with. If you need the above service, pls do contact me. Once you are supply with a CPanel account, you will be ready to install WordPress. The next step is to scour the internet and YouTube for the website template that were made ready for use immediately and one that suits your business.

With that comes sleepless night. LOL. I’ve learned to come out with a primary and secondary color for the design of my website. Usually the colors (are slightly off) coincide with the logo of your company because just so to make it look seamless and integrated all around when public are viewing your website.

A landing page, mostly know as home page or wallpaper of the web, is also an important fact in your design. Get yourself a nice looking wallpaper and impress the viewers of your website at first sight. That would probably leave a lasting impression if not months of impression.

From there on, every page you design would have the same primary and secondary colour. Just need to be consistent in this area and you would have design a great website for the first time in your life even if you do not understand any coding. The good thing about WordPress is it’s a drag and drop kinda design. You want contact us, you look for the various plug-in, choose the one you like most and drag and drop into the area of the page you want it to be shown. As simple as that, but the tedious part is changing the color theme, make space for margins and etc.

I’m not an expert but a ‘been there done that’ guy. Enuff said. Hope it doesn’t bored you with the long post.

Oh lastly, the most challenging part is to build a page for e-commerce. I have already set sight on one of the free plug-in offered to me, let see how it goes when I’m 100% done.

Till next time, adios!
